Fiamma f45 awning on a holdsworth villa pop top

Post by organicmatter »

Hi all

Looking at getting one, but before I pull the trigger I wanted check if this will fit to my holdsworth villa 3 pop top using the standard brackets they sell?

Looking at a 260 width one i know the 300 fits but prefer the look of the shorter one.

Thanks

Tim

Does the moulding of the poptop roof sit in the guttering? from looking at pictures I suspect that it does! without the 2-3cm gutter width there isn't anything for the Fiamma bracket to sit in.

As for the 2.6 versa's 3.0 metre debate, I'm going to hang myself here, as for a long time I always recommended the shorter 2.6 metre size for its better looks when fitted. I actually owned a Polar White F45Ti in the 2.6 metre size for several years that I purchased new. However, I have recently (about 5 weeks ago) sold the 2.6 and brought a brand new 3.0 metre F45S in Black. So you see I am uniquely qualified to comment.
The only issue...and it turns out to be quite a biggy, with the 2.6 version, is that it will leave the sliding door exposed to rain, as when fitted (as far forwards as it can be) the canopy only overhangs by a matter of 15cm or so, not quite level with the door. When it rains (anything more than a drizzle) rain comes in through the sliding door.
The 3.0m F45S extra 40cm takes the canopy almost half way across/above the front door, offering vastly better sliding door protection....just a fact.
Oh and I just remembered...the 3.0m extends 2.5 metres outwards (the 2.6 only 2.0 metres) making the overall canvas 45% bigger (4.9 m2 compared to 7.3 m2)
Hope this helps.

First pic shows my F45Ti ...you can see how the canopy section just goes a little over level with the door.

NOT SO CLEAR! but you can just about see (behind my Hope Burner) how my new F45S 3.0m extends well over the door...past half way!

Thanks for the info and photos California dreaming I did worry that the Faimma brackets might not work.
I know gowesty make their own brackets, but cant seem to find any alternatives to the fiamma over here.
As for the size some food for thought.

Hey there. I've got a Holdsworth Villa pop top and I'm looking for roof bars/roof rack for a windsurfer. I know you were asking about awnings. If you see anything that may help re my roof bars I would be super grateful for a heads up. Same way, I'll pass on anything I see about awnings for you. Sometimes they advertise the two together :ok
