JX TD Oil switch wire colour

Post by spdbrd »

Hi all,
I've got a JX engine and just done the valve stem oil seals.
Stupidly never took any pictures of wire before removal :run
The oil pressure switch on top of the oil cooler- what colour is the wire?
Green/black or
Yellow?
My oil pressure light won't go off. V worrying

My JX wiring diagram does not list the colours :-(

Bentley suggests Blue/Black and if the yellow has red on it too it is probably the temp sender.

But take a look at https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/brickwerks ... -switches/

It mentions a second switch for later vans with yellow on it. Sorry I can't help you further but prob best if someone with identical engine / year can confirm - maybe with a photo too.

on a '86 van (eg. mine :) ) the yellow goes to the 0,9bar (grey) sender and the blue/black is going to the 0,3bar (blue) sender.

Is the oil pressure light on before starting the engine? If not then you probably have a wiring error, ie wire for 0.3bar switch fitted to 0.9bar one.

Thanks everyone "
The yellow wire is now attached and the other to the c head.
Oil pressure light stays flashing until engine starts.
Coolant light goes off after a short period also.

As I've been stupid enough to wire up wrong is the above description what should be happening??.

Made the mistake of mentioning my stupidity to wife..... Not very supportive :rollin
