Sliding window identity?

Post by volks_womble »

I bought this window a while ago which was labelled as a t25 item with the intention of either replacing our damaged one, our using it in the sliding door:

However when I compare it to the sliding window in our van, it is the same height, but about 30mm shorter on the length.

Our van is an autohomes conversion, which I believe were supplied with factory windows, so is this other window one for a converted panel van, or for a later design?

The glass in the window is etched with a VW logo, which is why I thought it was a factory window...

Any idea what it is for?

Thanks

It looks the same as what I have in my Devon conversion, in the sliding door

Most british T25 camper converters used panel vans without factory windows, just cut their own in. That slider window is from a sliding door on a right hand drive factory fitted window van.

For some reason, I thought that Autohomes conversions were factory fitted windows.

Ours is a Mk1 Autohomes Kamper with the VW 'Camping' badge on the rear.

A sliding window for a RHD van is precisely what I wanted, but it looks like my aperture is too long (albeit spot on for height).

Look out for a sliding window in the for sale section soon...

Thanks

There is also an early or late size for the window on a sliding door.

Ah, that would make sense. The window definitely looks late, but ours is certainly an early van...

So is this window for a late bus, with factory fitted windows?
