Grease for sliding seat

Post by JonathanR »

Hi
I have cleaned all the old solid grease from the slides on drivers seat as it had stopped sliding. It seemed to have a mixture of greases.
What's the best one to use. Ordinary, graphite, copper slip, Vaseline?
Thanks

I just redid mine by cleaning out the ancient grease and using bog standard 'grease' I got from a local discounter for a fiver. I wouldn't overthink it :ok

Personally, I'd use a light oil. Grease attracts grit and dries out.

Silicon grease for me, you need very little & it does not migrate as it is unaffected by heat.

You are best off with nothing at all, just a really good clean and maybe a good polish to :ok

Need to put a little grease cos you have a bit a bare metal and its going to get rusty.

White grease. Doesn't mess carpets.
