Solex 34 Pict 4 Rebuild

Post by george2490 »

Currently rebuilding my carb and need to replace the throttle spindle bushes.
The ones in there are brass but petrol is leaking from both sides even though there is minimal play.
Any advice on removing the old bushings would be appreciated.

The spindles aren't fuel tight as when the engine is running they are under vacuum, as long as there is no play in the spindles to let in excess air don't worry.

WHS^^

I have tried 2 bush kits offered.. and they are only to take up 'slack'..

Make sure you use the same thickness washer for the float valve.

What is really important is to get the idle setting right ..

Use good quality thicker paper gaskets for the DRY mounting of the carb to the manifold..

Cordialement,
