They say a picture tells a thousand words so I again need your help. I have made up an exhaust using the original Subaru headers, shortened them so they are not lower than the sump and have now come to mounting the original wbx silencer. I have been told to mount off the alternator / power steering bracket but can't picture how. Please can I have some pics?

1987 VW T25: Subaru EJ20 using RJES parts (If it was meant to go fast it wouldn't be brick shaped!)
Get a pair of straps and make a bracket to bridge across them, then make a strong L shaped bracket , fix to right hand side of strap bracket, and make to fit to alternator bracket with alternator bolt into engine.

Its solid on there,note how thick the steel plate is ! , the exhaust is a RJES that he once sold , it should be attached with bolts on the cam belt pulley wheels and sticking out through the front plastic covers. I did this on one engine but on this one went for an easier mounting. The alternator bolt location was the easiest for me , used an old towbar fixing plate which had captive nuts and threaded into plate already, didnt have to weld just cut and shaped and bolted together, im sure something prettier could be made ! Forgot to say there is a thinner steel bracket underneath that fits onto the standard sump, its a sort of brace .Should be tack welded to sump or bolted the the short sump that never got made.
