Post by crazyhorse »

Hi all,

Opinions please.

Followed the wiki on how to do this. Got the the white stopper off steering column. Wiper control moves down. Ordered fuse part off VW Heritage, didnt fit... but pulled out metal stopper in fuse box, was getting excited now but.......................

Nothing. Doesnt move.

Any ideas??

Thanks

It could just be the switch connectors.

Yes it should be attached to the relay plate via a block connector
Pull the plate off and take a look
(multi pin connector A, pin 6)
or
(multi pin connector D pin 17)

BY switch connectors I mean the connectors at the stalk on the steering wheel

Thanks.

Pull plate off.. check. Though it's hard to get any slack and have a look behind...

Then the rest gets lost in translation. Sorry not very good at these things.

Why does a simple job for me turn complicated??

On the back of the plate you will see lots of connectors plugged into it, they have designated names A B C D etc
every connector has pins in it, some have 17 or more pins, so that's a big connector!

What you have to do is just check if the wire is indeed from the connectors, it might just be some random wire from a PO.
If there is a gap in a connector then putting it back is easier with the connector off the plate.

It is fiddly.. Patience, luke, use the force to guide you

bloody hell that tough.

It's weird. Now when I pull the relay out I only have fast wipers.

Put it back in have slow and fast, still no intermittent though.

Might throw in towel, not sure what i am doing, and dont want to wreck the whole system
