oil leak.... am I missing an o ring?

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

oil leak.... am I missing an o ring?

Post by Gary.pb »

I seem to have a bit if an oil leak on my van which I'm 99% sure is coming from the dipstick locater where it fits into the engine. The engine is new and i reused my old dipstick locator . I have noticed that it fells a little bit loose. Silly question but should there be an o ring here? I remember this being quite tight when I pulled it off my old engine so I'm assuming it shouldn't be loose.

I've been searching all sorts of things in the Internet and found nothing, hence my post on here. I was obviously looking in the wrong places. Looks like it will be a nice easy fix then. Thanks for your help :ok

Yes, there should be a small green O-ring. The dipstick tube is held in place pressing the O-ring into the hole in the case.
