whats it called?

you know theres 2 sensors (?) - under the thermostat -
ones for the coolant temperature gauge -
anyone know what the other one is called - and what it does?
be much appreciated if you can give it a name and a function!

On a DG it's the thermostatic switch for the inlet manifold heater iirc

on a injection ( DH, DJ MV, SS ect) its a temp sensor for the ECU

Isn't the one under the thermostat and located in the lower part of the housing, this one?

Just changed my thermostat hosing, and the one poking out to the side looks like this, the other is similar but black in colour ond pokes out toward the front of the van.

Maybe I read the question wrong?

ordered one of those too -
just in case ...
only 3 quid from brickwerks -
i think the black one is the temperature sensor on mine -
points towards the front of the van -
the one i'm after - 2 pin -with one wire going eventually to the carb?
cant have enough t25 spares!
