DRIVE PLATE
can anyone tell me if the five bolts that you use to hold the drive plate on in an automatic engine just a standard bolt as £5.50 each is a ripoff ?

Re: DRIVE PLATE
£5.50 is indeed a ripoff. As long as you can find equally strong bolts that match, they will do.
CV bolts are a prime example of this. VW charge about £1.80 each bolt, plus VAT. If you can get further up the supply chain (ie genuine bolt dealer) you can buy a box-full for a fiver. Ebay can be difficult as I've come across high-tensile bolts that turned out to be made of cheese.

Re: DRIVE PLATE
10.9 rated for the flywheel or driveplate, same one but its the 20mm length that gets tricky.
M12 x 1.5 x 25 "can" fit and are easier to find but you need to make sure that they spin in easily and nip up without bottoming the last thread in the crank tappings.
They can still be nearly 2 quid each because they are an unusually short bolt for M12 (fine)
