Dash ribbon repair.......

Post by Wychall »

Just been wasting some time browsing Google and came up with a South African company offering a DIY repair kit for the dash cluster. May be of interest to some of you? The asking price of R1000 equates to approx £45 although there would be shipping on top of that.

Not a repair so much as a hardwire. Did the same to mine with everything terminating in an ATX plug. You can do it in an evening and there are plenty of diagrams on the net.

That's a nice off the shelf solution. Looks like all the resistors etc are in the box with the connector, so just a nice simple connection with the labelled wires.

As Covkid says essentially a hard wire, but a nice alternative when someone's taken the hard work out of it.

Too right. A rewire is akin to solving a rubiks cube blindfold. Mind you' once done it opens up far more possibilities to add things to the dash or improve whats there.
