I am wondering also as my boat engine is playing silly beggars. (might be a waxstat keeping revs high though as this operates a fast idle when cold and this is the area I need to look at). I tend to use gunk that stops growths in the fuel tank usually and was wondering about mixing the 2.
Snake oil or not?

For diesels I have recently read that putting some two stroke oil in with the diesel improves performance and helps lubricate the fuel pump etc.

The cleaner is supposed to help clean pump/nozzles etc whereas 2 stroke is more about lubricity.

The more expensive diesel contains all the additives you need to keep the system clean. So Every now and again just do a fill with the good stuff.

Agree with lloydy, only use the best fuels. I work in a small garage and we see so many cars with running problems, blocked DPFs etc and when I ask what fuel the customer uses......always the same answer , cheap supermarket fuel.
Some of the cleaners and fuel additives made by the likes of Forte are very good. We use them many times if a car has a problem or won't go thru the emissions.
