Engine rebuild advice

Post by Laws1974 »

After the trip to Woolacombe and back and about 6lts of oil later I think it's time for a rebuild.
I know My little 1.6td is a good engine apart from burning oil, but I'm a bit up in the air what to do at the moment.
(1) rebuild stranded with intercooler.
(2) 1.9 AAZ if I can find a good one and will still need checking out.
(3) rebuild the JX with over sized Pistons and other mods plus intercooler.
Has anyone put the 1.9 Pistons in a 1.6 block? Or been in the predicament I'm in.
???

You can get all of the parts to rebuild your engine... I've been working on my SB for a while, and apart from a few small bits it's done...

The 1.9 pistons wouldn't work afaik, as it's the crank stroke that's different and possibly the bore too, but the main difference would be the wrist pin height... So even if they did fit, the compression ratio would all be wrong!!
