Petrol in diesel

Post by Ian and Lins »

As it says. We put in about 8 litres of petrol in a 50 litre tank. I'm going to risk it for a biscuit, fill it with DIESEL and keep the tank topped up. Would it be worth putting any 2T (two stroke oil) In as well?
Are we going on anything else?

if its a newer diesel engine no and drain it down....the high pressure common-rail diesel pumps run at ridiculously high pressures and don't have much allowance for wear, the petrol will strip any lubrication in the system, it might not go bang tomorrow but you will be just storing problems for the future.

if it were me id drain it down whatever the engine
