Vacuum Advance Unit...

Post by vwroyd »

Hi,

On my 1982, 1910cc watercooled van.

The Vacuum Advance on my Distributor has packed up.... Looking through my bits and bob's I have found an old Distributor with a good vacuum unit from an old air cooled van with points and condenser...

The question is.. Could I use this on my distributor??

Many Thanks
Chris

Yes probably but the fitting screws may be in a different position which will make it impossible. The length of the pullrod should also be the same. Theres only one way to find out :D

Great.. I was hoping that would be the only issue... The holes are now in and it's going back together..

Will let you know how it goes...

Thanks :ok

There are so many different types. Secondhand ones can even originate from Beetles with single and double mounting screws. If it fitted and works, you're away. :D
