Hi,
I'm on holiday and my BBB has not got warm and does not buzz.
I have flattened my vehicle ( Atlantic,1.6TD, MY90) battery.
I shall complete all of the normal checks first, but if the BBB has gone - while I am fault finding, I have decided I wilI replace the original charger and have purchased a Numax 12V 10A Leisure charger.
Any help and advice for when I return home on replacing the original will be appreciated.
Advice on the rewiring will be most helpful.
Regards
Graham

Re: BBB is not buzzing or getting hot, vehicle battery flat.
BBB has a small thermal fuse that fails on top of the transformer plus the usual mini glass fuse on the PCB.
The Numax is a good choice but as with most alternatives, only has one output (the BBB has two, one to the leisure battery, the other to the the starter battery) The usual would be to wire it just to the leisure battery.
Some have replaced the standard split charge relay for a SMART voltage sensing type. This is done so that when the leisure is being charged on mains the voltage is raised triggering the relay connecting the batteries together to charge both.
