Hi All,
Just wondered if anyone uses any (free) software to create wiring diagrams? I've traced where (almost) all of the wires go in the van to help understand and fix problems - but my handwritten scrawl could do with tidying up and re-routing.
So far TinyCAD looks like it might be OK, any others?
Many thanks,
Duncan

Watching with interest especially if you can find software that allows you to show wire colours ??

Re: Generating Schematic Diagrams
Hiya
At school we used to use a software program called "crocodile clips" for simulating electronic circuits. Seems now its been taken over by a programme called "yenka". I can't vouch for this software - retired 4 years ago, yea! - but I'm guessing it's as good if not better than the original.
A free home use copy is available to download from:
http://www.yenka.com/technology/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Hope this helps.

Re: Generating Schematic Diagrams
I use A9CAD. It's free and based on Autocad. It's slow but at least I know how to use it. Saves as .dwg files.

Re: Generating Schematic Diagrams
I use visio at the moment.
At college I used to use Electronic Workbench 5.
The latter one also simulates how the circuit would work - if it worked at all.
Both are very old programs, so perhaps not free, but should be quite cheap.

Re: Generating Schematic Diagrams
Yenka looks like a good suite for learning from. I've been trying TinyCAD and it's not too bad so far. I get on with Visio at work, but I just checked the MS website and it's ~£260 for the standard version and twice that for Pro. Ouch!
