Wiring for fridge relay

Post by Margo88 »

Hi guys,

Can anyone please tell me where would be the best place to take the feed from for the coil on my fridge relay?

I was going to take it straight off the ignition barrel output but I'm wondering if there is a standard place to take off from.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

The standard seems to be to connect it to the alternator warning light wire via a fuse (2Amp should be OK). That's what I've done and it works OK.

Then the relay will only operate when the alternator is charging.

If you connect it straight to the ignition, it will operate during cranking, so the leisure battery will potentially share the starting load through some relatively skinny wiring.
1.9D (AEF) pop-top. Aaaaahhhhh........that's better.
