Hi,
VW T3 1.7D 1989. [Checked wiki and searched first]
Installing electricals for big trip home for xmas...
Cig lighter:
Wiring up a cigarette lighter in place of old 12v power socket. Have a brown wire, and a red/black wire. Cig lighter has two terminals. old socket, brown went to centre connector, red/black to outer. Figure I should do the same. Illuminated surround for cig lighter has black wire, and red wire. Can / should I wire these in with the socket, as follows [red wire with red/black wire], black wire with brown wire] on twin spades?
Thanks,
Blue

thanks dave...
thanks dave...any tips on a suitable feed for the dash lights...maybe the back of the heater controls...there is a feed there to the little vaguely glowy bulb, right? I was planning to change that bulb [and the one in the ciggy lighter surround] for a blue led to match my dash lights.
If I do this, guess I can leave the earth as is, just put the live feed over from the dash lights...right?
Thanks again for the tip...had enough of working under interior lights and torches now, will finish the job when I finish fitting the stero in the morning...
