Nightmare Talbot

Post by CovKid »

Spent the day helping a friend fit a smartcom and a new leisure battery in a Talbot camper. That bit no prob, then ages trying to strip out the original split charge relay/s (why two?) from under the bonnet. Interior lights work but no power to Propex or water pump. Everything encased by cupboards. Called it a day..... :(

Anyone familiar with them? Seems to be an Auto Sleeper setup.

One of these:

One for fridge and one for charging the battery?
Try putting power back to one of the relays wires and see what springs to life and then the other one?

Too late, they're gone. Once removed, the only wires external to the relays and batteries were the alternator trigger wire (no longer needed) and the output which runs up to the control unit on the wardrobe. This latter wire I traced with my meter and replaced it with the positive from new leisure battery. It could just be a bad output connection in the control unit as the lights work fine as does the battery indicator and water level meter. At least next week I've only got the heater and water pump to solve.

Very difficult with everything screwed down, to determine where either are connected.

Will work using this diagram I think as control unit (DS220D) is identical and its an autosleeper diagram.
