Restoration costs

Post by Roydini »

Hold on, hold on! I know that asking for a price for a bodywork resto and respray is extremely difficult to give without a proper inspection of the van. But...What I am wondering is whether anyone could give me a rough idea of the saving I might make by stripping out the internals of my van myself? It's an original westy joker interior and the bodywork needed includes all the usual spots, behind the fridge, rear corners etc etc so the whole lot would need to come out for a proper job. Can any trade members or those with first hand experience put an estimate on the time needed for a professional to strip it all out so I can decide if it is worth me trying to do myself?

Cheers :ok

No idea but it's not that hard to pull out the interior yourself. Will take a few hours to do and most restorers charge by the hour so...... Also gives you a chance to waxoyl/insulate/soundproof before putting it back together
