Help with my oil leak please guys!!

Post by retro_rich »

Hi lads..
It's my first post on here, I've bought a t25 1.6 diesel, she's running like a dream but is kicking out oil like crazy!!

The rubber seal has gone from the oil cap and I have a feeling that
may be part of the problem. Also the oil pipe seems to have been bodged with sealant by the previous owner!

I decided to change the whole pipe, I'm no mechanic but I do try my best to do what ever jobs I can on my vw's!
Was wondering of it is an easy job ? It just looks like to bolts to me, but I'm
Not sure whats inside it!!

I also need help finding the correct part so if anyone could link me up that would be great :)

Thanks guys!!

Never done a diesel but can't be hard, you may get second hand if you are on a budget by sticking an ad in wanted.

Drain engine oil before you take off the filler pipe
Work grease into the gasket before you fit it , make sure mating surfaces are nice and clean , no need for sealant
Don't over tighten the 2 screws .........job done

If you are draining the oil.. it is easier to do when the oil is slightly warm, so run the engine, turn it off again, and then drain it when the oil is warm.

Not hot - don't burn yourself!
Brand New T25 Owner - I am a total NOOBIE thanks in advance for the help!!! :-)
