Advice needed.
My fuel pump on my 1.6d has sprung a leak. I've got a reconditioned one, how easy/hard is it to change it myself.

Re: Advice needed.
You will have to take off the cam belt and replace with a new one, plus a new tensioner.
The new pump fitting is relatively straightforward, but it is diesel fitting, so everything has to be spotless, and all open ends covered etc while doing the job.
Make sure you replace the injector pipe clips or the pipes will break.
The throttle and cold start linkages will hve to be adjusted correctly.
Then you will have to retime the Cam and injector pump when refitting the new cam belt.
Lastly the pump and injector pipework will require priming with diesel to get all the air out before the engine will even think of starting.
It seems to me that there are a lot of pitfalls here. And with respect, I suspect that if you had to ask the question, you may not have a great deal of experience with this kind of thing. If I am wrong then I apologise. As an introduction to working on diesels, it would be a big learning curve.
