Un identified corrosion

Can anyone identify this part that is corroded? And how worried do I need to be? Cheers.

I should say that this is behind the offside rear wheel if that helps?

It is the warm air collector for the carburetor induction pre heating, helps stop the engine stalling in cold weather.
