Hi
I have a Westfalia 1989 and the lights on gas and water panel are not working. Could this be the fuse in the panel it's self - seems to be 1A?
Thanks

Re: Water and Gas panel lights
Check the fuses in the small black fuse box at the base of the B pillar at the side of the driver's seat. I had aluminium fuses there and they react with the copper connectors causing a break in the electricity flow, so the power failed. Twist them a bit and that should break the corrosion. I then replaced mine with ceramic copper fuses. Don't buy the plastic bodied ones. They can soften and break the power flow. Let us know how it goes.

Re: Water and Gas panel lights
I tried waggling about and scraping both ends. The fuse for the water pump is working and looks copper. The other one is aluminium, so I will try and get a replacement and let you know how it goes. Is the fuse? within the water/battery panel not likely to be problem?
I have looked at the rear of the panel and all the connections seem soldered ok - I read that this could also be the problem…?

Re: Water and battery panel lights
I have swapped the fuse with new ceramic/copper ones. The water pump is working but panel still does not light up.
Any other thoughhts?

The other fuse for the Fridge should be a red 16amp one.
My LEDs do not have an additional 1amp fuse. That could be the problem. Does the fridge actually work on gas (is the ignition clicking) or on hook up?

Hi
Yes the other fuse is red and is working for the water pump.
The fridge does work on the gas.
I will try and swap out the 1Amp fuse that is on the panel and see if I have any luck
Thanks

Re: Water and Gas panel lights
If you look in the back of the under-sink cupboard where the cables and gas lines feed the fridge you should see a single connector (and a double one, as well as the 240V) The single one is the one that feeds the fridge on gas light. Short that out to earth and see if it then lights up. I think the water sensors are a separate circuit and as mine is an earlier van with a completely different level sensor I don't know if the panel is the same.
