Camper baffle for awning

Post by batesy16 »

Hi there. Getting my new Khyam xc drive away awning tomorrow.

Have seen a baffle you can buy to fit under your van, if I don't have one of these what do people use instead.

I've thought of making my own by using a German army zeltbahn as the fabric, cutting it to pattern, sewing seems around it and while doing so putting small magnets in the top seem to attach to bottom of the van and eyelets at the bottom to secure it with tent pegs. Just an idea mind.

If you are getting the ground sheet and it's anything like mine was, the sheet is plenty long enough to fold up and make the baffle. I used to wrap it over the side bar.
In truth, I found with our style of touring putting the baffle up was an unnecessary hassle.

I just wasn't sure how much of a draft you go into the tent if you don't have it. Is it gale force winds or a gentle draft to keep tent cool
