Moss Car Alarm
Hope this is the right area for this question, I have just fitted a moss car alarm and immobiliser to my camper (easier than the modern ones) however it did not come with the integrated shock sensor but needs a separate unit (MS 714) which I thought was always part of the siren but it needs to be attached as a separate item, cannot locate on ebay or anywhere else, I have a shock sensor from a more modern unit with three wires, but the three wires in their current configuration are not compatible, my question is does anyone have one of these and can they tell me how the wires are coloured and positioned on the pin. Tks Tony

Re: Moss Car Alarm
I think that was the type of alarm I had fitted to my Fiat X19 but I can't find the old manual. I did find something I must have printed out from a forum in the past? Like it says below. I thought the siren had a built in shock sensor and the option for a remote tilt sensor? Does your alarm have the adjuster screw under the rubber boot?
Connectors:
6-Way...
Red - +12v
Black - Ground
2x Orange - Outputs to L & R indicators
2x Grey - Immobilising circuit
2-Way...
Red/White - Remote current sensing wire (connected to some random point in the wiring loom to detect volts drop on door open)
7-Way...
Brown - Aerial
Pink - +12v switched output (12v when armed)
Green/Yellow - Fan sensing
Yellow - +12v input when ignition on
Blue/White - N/C input (must be grounded)
Blue - N/O input (negative edge triggering)
Green - Panic switch
One 3-Way connector provides central locking via eg. MS716 or MS718 interfaces, connector will have White and White/Black wires if used
Other 3-Way connector is remote tilt sensor input

Re: Moss Car Alarm
Hi, thanks for reply and research effort, when I bought the item on ebay I thought the shock sensor was as you say part of the siren, but on this model the shock sensor is an optional extra that fits into the back of the siren marked shock, the sensor is an MS714, which has three pins. I have a shock sensor from a more modern non MOSS car alarm and was hoping to find the colour codings for the MOSS one (MS714) so that I can change the wires to hopefully adapt to the slot at the back of the siren. The non MOSS shock absorber I have the colours are wired at the pin in the following order. Red (live), Black (neg) and white (trigger). They just need to be altered to reflect the old moss wiring type order, ive tried plugging in under its current order but it does not work, I cannot find an example on line of the MOSS one and was hoping that somebody had used one in the past. . ?? Re: Moss Car Alarm
5 mins with a multimeter should give you your answer. I remember fitting the same alarm in the 90's to a mates MK2 Escort!

Re: Moss Car Alarm
Tks, that will be my next option if I can't find a coded colour diagram.

Re: Moss Car Alarm
Non moss shock sensor now working, using multimeter found correct voltage wire, just had to swap around a couple of wires on shock sensor to make it compatible with MOSS Unit. Tks to all.
