Haven't even braved it out into the rain to have a look but i'm getting a new cable for my electrically opening roof soon. Anyone know if the gas struts are the same as any easily available ones or if not where i can get some?
Can't wait to lift the roof at the touch of a button!

Hi
The campershop struts look the dogs.
Im in the same boat as uglybutwellhung. I have a Danbury Autoroof but I'am missing a motor and drive cable. I from sunny govan but my van is off the road at the mo. The electrics and struts are in order if you need and photos or a hand fitting help get in touch. I would like to see how it all goes together.

Thanks all,
Made several discoveries on this front:
I was told that it was most likely that danbury wouldn't have had the tech expertise to design and commision a bespoke electric roof system so they would have bought one in and adapted it. Apparently the most likely kit they would have bought is a webasto sunshine roof system so search for a motor using this. It is probably a lucas motor though.
As for the cables i tried a few different things. The cables are helical cables, made by teleflex and often called teleflex cables. They're used in boats as steering cables but if you try marine stores they tend to come in kits that cost around £70 or so with the wrong fixings on.
It then occured to me that i'd seen these cables before! Do you remember those windows in schools etc that you could open using a wee winding handle? It's the same cable inside. I approached an automated window & ventilation engineer in Glasgow and they were currently installing them in loads of new schools. They cut me 6 metres and even delivered it to my work and didn't charge me a penny! Definately the nicest gesture i've ever had yet.
