Rich Mixture

Post by Ant-t »

I checked my plugs yesterday and they're pretty sooty, the haynes manual suggests a rich mixture. My carb is a standard 2E4 and I believe there is a mixture screw for adjusting but this isn't cover in the manual, should I attempt to adjust this and if so can anyone tell me how?

Mixture should only be adjusted using a gas analyser.
An MOT testing station will have one.

Furthermore plug colour is only really relevant after a high speed run and shutdown.
