Every picture paints a thousand swear words !
Good afternoon Gentlemen,
I am in the process of respraying my T25 camper, all the paint work is sanded down and I decided to take out the sliding window and replace the window channel , I spent hours taking it to bits painting and some new Woolies trim. looked great
http://s12.photobucket.com/user/fynnhar ... sort=3&o=4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The last screw in the middle of top of the window and I managed to hit the glass !!
So here I am up in Aberdeen, not many breakers of T25s up here and looks like no one will post me any glass ....
Anyone got any ideas ?
Is it a trip down to the beautiful south for me ?
First time poster on forum with photo so hope it works .

Hi,
I can confirm non of the local breakers have any of or vans in, the last one was davidsons at rora and that was a caravelle with solid windows.
I would suggest if you cand find a shipper for the glass the best bet would be to pop up to Saint Gobain at Altens with a template and ask for them to get a bit of toughened the size you need.
Cheers

Try mcgill5 (North Lanarkshire), he doesn't post much but has an address if you look for him in the members section.
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?

Thanks for the replies Gents.

Re: Every picture paints a thousand swear words !
Never see them for vehicle glass but our local glazier (who mostly does double glazing units and other household windows) will make up any shape and send it off to be toughened, used them for shelves and glass hearths. So that might be an option for you too.
By the way, how did you dismantel your sliding window unit? I've had mine out to fix a leaky seal that was holding it in, but I couldn't see a way to take it apart. Mine is REALLY stiff to slide!

Have you ever seen an unhappy fool?

Ok here goes , about 30 years ago I worked making LDV van sliding side windows which are just the same.
Once the window is out , around the outside are 4 screws either side and one screw top and bottom -
The frame comes apart in two halves, top and bottom.
The screws are normally rusted in and the heads are painted, I gave mine a quick blast with the soda blaster and WD40 to clean the screw heads up before removing them (hard work)
remove the top and bottom single screws (these hold the single none moving glass window)
Then remove just two screws on either side, the screws hold a small metal plate on the in side of the aluminum frame, so removing two on either side will allow the frame to slide apart .

After I broke mine I cut and put some perspex in so I could get my Fort William trip done last weekend, but my glass is being cut at Saint Gobain, Altens and is on its way this week, £32 which I thought was very cheep. Thanks Aberdeenbus
I will put up a photo soon as I get it in !
Hope this helps.
hope one day to actually get a photo up and not just a link !!
