engine replacement dilemma...help!

Hi,,,I have an 88 t25 westfalia but a previous owner has changed the original 1600 diesel jx turbo to a non turbo 1600. This engine now needs replacing. I either want to replace with an original 1600 jx turbo or upgrade to a 1900 diesel engine. Can anyone advise me please on what engine would be best. Cheers Paul
