Are double glazed westfalia windows any good?
Might be able to get my hands on these windows to put in my van:
Legally, may I add now that photo looks like I was eyeing it up for freebies!
I'll be honest they dont look as nice so I was wandering if there is really much added benefit?
Also, would they fit in my van:

Hi ,
I sent you a pm before seeing this. If I remember correctly the windows are not suitable for any conversion that started as a panel van and not as a caravele. I also recall an issue with pre and post 85 windows being different sizes.
I'm sure somone will be able to add to this.

Westy DG windows are cherry parts. If your van also has the recessed factory window holes they'll fit exactly.
If your van has post-factory windows fitted the holes are different sizes and not compatible.
I can't tell from the photos but it looks like your van is OK. If not sell them on - it'll be worth your while getting them regardless.

If your van left the factory with windows the double glazing will fit. If it's a converted panel van, they wont

If your window glass is recessed from the side panel, you have factory window holes. Like these:-
If your window glass is flush with the panel and the rubbers stick out, you have post-factory window holes.

Okay, I'll have to check when I get the van back. It's a Danbury conversion I think! I dont think it is Factory fitted/cut windows.

Westy double glazed windows are nice but don't expect your van to suddenly become super warm and cosy overnight. I think they help a bit, particularly if you fix a curtain around the windscreen and front windows or better still behind the front seats, but there are so many other nooks and crannies and uninsulated areas that they won't have the same effect as they do on your house!

Thanks. I think i may pass them on. I don't think I like how they look, and if they aren't a huge performance boost, I'll go with thermals and good curtains. It'll be a few years before I get to camp in the cold with the little one. The windows will help with the cost of the rest of the van.
