Electrical Socket Not working on Hook Up?

Hi All,
My elec socket (the one by the fridge) has stopped working - Im not overly technical, but I thought it was just run off the elec hook up ? But I just tested it this w/end on hook up and it wouldn't charge my phone - is there a fuse inline or on the fuse box that cold have blown? Or is it worth checking the wiring?
