Hey
I am looking for new gaskets to sit between the barrels and head before I put the heads back on but there seems to be 3 different thicknesses. Anyone know which I should plump for.....0.7, 1 or 1.2 (1980 CU motor)

Re: CU barrel to head gaskets
Standard is 0.7mm unless the heads have been reworked then thicker gaskets as appropriate

Re: CU barrel to head gaskets
As per VWs technical update, you don't use the HG anymore...
You shim the base of the barrel to maintain deck height/piston to head spacing
Also if they're new AMC heads, then they have a step cast into them to replicate the HG thickness
