Re: oil light
Sounds dodgy!!
Was it just a relay to turn the oil light off!!

Re: oil light
Agreed sounds dodgy, oil light switch is on/closed with no pressure and off/ open with pressure, so don't see how a relay helps, if wiring was bad the light would never come on.

But it depends on whether the correct switch was replaced.
A wet gauge test would confirm the oil pressure in the engine.
Also a compression test would confirm its health.

Re: oil light
Mechanic said it was sensor prob and he used a relay but if a prob the light and buzzer will still work as norm

Re: oil light
There are no sensors for oil pressure they are switches that operate when pressure is above or below a certain level
wires connect from one side of these switches to the dash, the other side of the switches connect to the engine and so are ground, this means the wires are grounded or not when the switches are open or closed.
the dash interprets these grounded or not wires as good or bad and the light and buzzer are then on or off.
A relay is a switch operated by 12v magnetic coil, how can adding a 12v operated switch fix a problem with a pressure operated switch?
if the wire was bad I suppose it may be possible to fit a relay dash end and the oil switch used to switch the relay coil but thats a bodge as the wire can continue to degrade, a new wire is the solution.
Get details of the modification, get the pressure checked or walk away is my advice
