Door lock tumbler sets

Hi

Does anyone know a supplier of the brass tumblers for the door locks, we have a different key for each lock and judging by the thinness of a couple of the keys the days are numbered in respect to being able to remove the barrels.

Custom and Commercial use to have an in house lock man, just looked on the website and the info is not there.
I bought a new side door lock and a set of tumblers to do the rest of the locks from C&C.
They are also available as a kit from VW I think. There has been a thread on this before.

Ive done a bit of research and people have mentioned VW for the kits, however I was wondering if they are available any cheaper as I have heard mentioned £50 odd for the kit, most of which I will not use, which seems a bit steep. They are available in the USA for

kit in theory does 16 locks but obviously not 16 the same as there are four different tumblers and 7 tumblers per lock
I have a set here and a second set is floating around somewhere, it went on loan/use to Rich Penninsula kid, it may be with him or with Jed, once you work out the code for the ignition key you can easily tumble the set to one key, also comes with springs so you can replace all the springs and clean out all the crud and corrosion and end up with as new locks that can't readily be opened with any key, it is worthwhile investment compared to the time it will take to do the job, I don't offer it as a service as if I did it would be at least £35 per lock as you can expect to spend an hour on each if they are in typical 25 year old state and some will take longer
if you buy a kit from VW you can sell what you don't use or do it with a couple of other peeps and share the cost as long as your keys are fairly different, if they are nearly the same you will run out of one of the 4 tumblers and not complete three vans

Not one to be undone I have found a company in France that supply the parts individually, hopefully work out cheaper,

Thing is I am not sure what the differences are to show what sizes the tumblers are

I am right in thinking that the No 1 tumbler has the slot at the highest point in respect of the spring lug being at the top of the tumbler and rest to follow suit with the slot for tumbler 4 being at the lowest point ?

Will pass on the info of the company when I find out how many pieces you get for 13 euros as it might not be any cheaper as of yet.

Worth reminding anyone reading this who may be new to T25 locks that the lock housing itself wears out - badly. Retumbling is only worth the expense when everything is in good condition - ie not 30 years old. Plus, locks no matter how accurate they might be post-overhaul, stop no one getting in ofcourse. The important thing is to make it damned hard to drive away and don't leave anything valuable inside.

The best ant-theft device I fitted cost 69p. It goes nowhere now other than via a crane and low loader if I don't want it moved. Retumbling locks is fun though - done lots over the years. Seems a lot of money for what they are.
