Any wiring tech gurus? Driving me mad

Post by shrekwoody »

Hi there

Any advice on what i could have possibly done wrong please

Whilst finishing the joyfull task of new heater blower motor, switches & resistors ive lost main beam & screenwashers

Driving me mad!

Everything else works

Does the hi beam run thru a relay?

Any hints and tips how to fault diagnose my "cock" up please

Thanks as always, chris

High beam DOES use a relay despite what others have said in the past but more to the point main and washers operate through steering column. Plugs pushed home?l

It was working, think ive disturbed something

Fuses, earths, all seem fine...i think

Ive seen relay 19 mentioned, gonna go out and see mines same

Can washer & hi beam be related?

Thanks

What year/type is the van?
Are the wipers working?
Has main beam gone too or just high beam?
Also - do the high beams work if you pull and hold the stalk?

I assume your new blower motor works ok?

It sounds like it might be grounds that have dislodged but it's not obvious?

Might be worth pulling connector off a headlight and seeing if;
a) you have 12v getting to it on main beam
b) you have a good ground connection on there
That would at least narrow down the culprit to power or ground??
