I'm cleaning up the sliding door mechanisn - in particular the 'middle' hinge and runner.
Am I ok to just paint the runner with 'ordinary' rattle can paint - or is there something more durable that I should be using as the 'hinge' roller will be running across it??

Obviously the paint would need a few days of desent warm weather or a week of cool weather to harden fully.

Maybe one day I might get it finished

Yep - good point - guess I won't be driving around much for a while!Robsey wrote:Obviously the paint would need a few days of desent warm weather or a week of cool weather to harden fully.
I currently have the door off its runner and held shut on the closing/locking mechanism (if that makes sense) - but it seems foolish to drive anywhere like this as I assume a) it's not designed for that; b) if the latch did let go the door would just fall straight off (which doesn't bear thinking about!)
