Power Steering Heavy

Post by MusoCampers »

Hi Guys,

Recently got back from a long journey in my '86 Caravelle and the next day the steering has become very juddery and heavy. I've checked the fluid and it is still full and as far as I can see there are no leaks.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Dave

Try lifting out the filter in the reservoir and check that its not blocked.

Universal joint on the relay shaft might well be failing.
Best remove and check it before it locks the steering...

Mine gets like that when the belt is a bit loose. Any squealing from the aux belt when running? Might just need a tighten/adjust?
