Tappety engine

Post by ethelred the ready »

Hello DG engine gurus. Engine running great, but seems to be a little more tappety than it was. With my 2cv you don't have to worry about the tappets opening up, it's when the gaps close up you get problems. Do I have to worry about them, and if so is it a straight forward job to adjust them. Thanks in advance.

Hi
First a few questions:
1) How often do you drive your van?
2) What grade oil do you use?
3) How many miles have you travelled since the last oil change?

Drive the van every other day, about 6000 miles per year. Oil is what the manual recommends (can't remember off top of head spec) changed twice per year, filter every year. Just coming up to intermediate oil change, so about 3000 miles since last oil change. Thanks.
