Hello.
Took Ruby our Devon camper away for our first camp this lovely weekend. Was ace. All works apart from the tap. I have filled the fresh water tank and switched the pump switch on the zig unit. The pump then makes a noise when I psuh the little button above the fridge that sounds like it is pumping but no water arrives. If I undo the outlet on the tank water comes out so I know it comes out there but when I look in the pipes there is no water.
Would an airlock do this? Or is my pump not working hard enough. The problem is the pump seems to be behind the fridge and a pig to get to, is this the only pump? It's a devon conversion and I have no reason to believe that it isn't still the original gear.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Josh

Re: Tap with no water
Airlock is highly likely, switch pump on and place mouth over spout and suck like hell. Sometimes works.

Hi,
I did try this but to no avail. If the pump makes a noise is it working? I tried attaching a Hose to it and putting it lower than the pump to see if that helped bit all that achieved was a busted knuckle on my hand when I pulled the pipe too hard. I'm guessing that perhaps there may be an air leak and so the pump in just sucking in air but cannot see one.

Re: Tap with no water
Has the pump wiring been touched - it could be running backwards! Try reversing the wires then.

Re: Tap with no water
Have you sorted this yet?
The pumps need priming, so sometimes you need to give the outlet a really good suck to get the water to the pump. If you have done that, then it might be time for a blow job! There might be crud in the (very small) pipe, so blowing down the outlet should give an idea if it's free or not.
Depending on the pump type, there may be a diaphragm inside the pump which could have split. Probably easiest to replace the whole pump if this is the case.

Hi mate.
Thanks yep I sorted it. Attached a hose to the tap and sucked and sucked whilst pushing the button down. A big burp from the tap and the water came through.
