Has the fuel filter been changed recently?

What engine are we talking here?

Cheers,
Sam.

"so only give it a run twice a week"
do you just start it and run it for 10 minutes? or take it for a 30 min run up the road?
starting and running on the drive for 10 mins will do more harm than good.. it takes about a 30 min drive to recover the charge from a cold start..
Better off making the effort to use it for 1 day every couple of weeks, to get heat into the system and keep the damp out...

hello all . . . .
just had another go after work. . . .still nothing, battery is good and turning it over, its just not firing :( . Its a 1900 DG, i use the van twice a week and yes, for a minimum of 30mins. i normally use the van all over the weekend aswell. only had the van 2 months, so as yet haven't changed the fuel filter. im gonna buy all the gear to do a simple engine service this weekend so i know plugs, leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm,oil change, oil filter, air filter are all good, should i also do the fuel filter/ is it as easy as all the before mentioned??? . . .also i've been advised of gettin a rotor arm with no rev limiter :? any ideas?????
many thanks up front guys

...which is fine until your throttle sticks fully open mid gear change!

Did she scream? Oh yes!

(It broke too, but Mr. Baxter mended it again.)

A couple of years ago I had a Mini that just died on me. Loads of battery power, just no spark. I changed the points and condensor for a spare set I had in the Mini but still no joy. After being trailored home it turned out to be the dizzy cap. You couldn't see it 'till you got close and lots of light too, but it had fine hairline cracks in it that were shorting out the spark. A new rotor arm and cap later and it was sorted.
But I'd see if the coil live is live first, then if the coil itself has an output. Just ask a friend to hold the HT lead from the coil to the cap, that you have previously disconnected........... :D

yes as said check for spark first ....petrol delivery next..pull off the fuel line from the pump, and pipe the fuel into a container crank the engine for a couple of secs ...check for water in the fuel and the amount of fuel (at least 200 mls)
