leaking diesel

Post by fatboy »

Have a problem on my van!!!!
On the diesel pump, there is what would appear to be a vacum advance unit. This connects to the top of the pump via an angled bracket bolted to a shaft.Where the shaft enters the pump, i used to have a slight diesel leak; in my infinite wisdom i decided to see if i could seal this and rewoved the nut to expose the seal! Having replaced the nut, I now have diesel gushing out of the seal!!!!!
Is there something i can do myself, or do i have to remove the pump and get a diesel specialist to do something to it?
Any help/advice gratefully received.

It's a blue square section seal, available from your Bosch agent.
