I want to run some wiring from the engine bay to the dash (for variable senders in the future and a few bits and bobs) and wondered what the established best route is?
Do most run externally, underneath the van and come up at the front, or just come up into the rock n roll storage bit and then run internally?
Tried and trusted routes would be greatly appreciated
20 mm conduit from screwfix , fit the multicore cable before fitting the conduit is easiest, a little soapy water helps it slip through
cable tie away from fan and gear linkage
I ran across above gearbox to other side at back.

Interested in this as I need to do a similar thing in the next day or so would appreciate a link if you have one.
just unit along all the other cables that go from the back to the front, there is ready made grommets behind the head lamp that lead to right behind the fuse box
Can anyone clarify the factory route for the wiring from the front to engine bay? Taking the binnacle off it appears that most of it disappears down a grommet behind the fuse box. Presumably the other side of this grommet resides behind the NS headlight (?), but where does it go from there? What route does the main loom follow - is it clipped to the main chassis rail?
I've just discovered our van doesn't have any of the wiring from the front switch to the rear fog lights connector in the engine junction box, and the MOT is due , and so ideally I'd like to run a lead from the front to back in a reasonably stock manner.

lloydy - just seen your post. Is it simple enough to get alongside the front-back loom down the van? I'm hoping it's relatively straightforward to thread through the grommet to behind the headlight and then fish to below the front n/s corner? Ideally I'd like to cable tie my new wire alongside the main loom going back so that it's out of the way, but is this going to be an issue at the back - does it generally run over the Syncro fuel tank or underneath? Thanks.

I decided I didn't want my wiring coming out behind the fusebox, most guages will be the other side and it's easier to get to wiring that comes up in the middle, behind fuse box is less accessible IMO
crawl under and easy to see the loom, my conduit is tied to it until fuel tank where it goes through a small hole that is not easy to get a conduit through so I jyst went through the centre
Okay. Hadn't thought about starting at the back and running to the front - I'll take a look at that. Thanks. I suspect electrics is one of things that's going to need attention on the van sooner rather than later - at least one of the previous owners has obviously been 'freestyling' behind the dash on various things.

Only if you have a RHD. Same side as the fusebox is perfect for us.
