2.0 CU Single Carb conversion webber/empi

Help!!...Is it at all possible to fit one of these blighters without having to trim/butcher a perfectly good engine cover. I've bought the slimmest air filter for it and it still fouls the lid

I have a twin webber conversion on my 2.0cu, that doesn't foul the lid at all. Not sure if the single webber sits a bit higher though I shouldn't think you should have to modify the lid if its a proper kit, I could be wrong though I'm sure someone with a bit more knowledge will be along soon
