Fitted St/st exhaust

Post by Dazco »

Fitted my nice shiny St/st exhaust yesterday using long stainless grub screws and copper nuts as reccomdnded by a few guys on here.
Can't believe the differance it has made . Lovely sound and pulls better ( silencer had a few holes ).
Had to tap all the threaded holes out , all re assembled using copper grease. :ok

As you may or may not know, I do love the look of the copper coated nuts. It's the little extras that count - a van knows if it's loved or not!!
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?

I fitted a s/s exhaust to my Nellie late last year. Me and the Mrs dragged the engine out from under the van so I could weld off a few studs. Two had to be drilled and re-tapped. It is a wonderful feeling when the job is finished. And as you say the van sounds a lot better too. Just took the carburettor off for a refurb. That scarred me more, I don't get on with carbs.
Good luck with your van, Kenny.
I don't know where I am, but I'm having a lovely time!
