Lpg conversion & wading in water

Okay, I have 2 queries
No 1. LPG conversion I have aquired a Tartarini Tec97 gas conversion. I can fit most of the kit however I may need help with the wiring. Can anybody help?
No 2. How do you "waterproof" 2.1 petrol, I ask this as after the weekend and driving through (on purpose) some local floods ( 30 mph 1ft water) She did start missing and spluttering. What have you used to protect the electrics?

What I really want to know is about extra protection to waterproof the ignition system. Any ideas? Did the Germans use anything on theirs? They must of had some sort of protection.

1 ft? 12 inches? 30 cm ish? will kill / float a syncro?

syncropaddy where's that pic of yours up to grille in 'river'?

There's 2 bits of road near me that are prone to flooding, driven through both in last week or so, no extra protection, no problems.

One bit had a fiesta stuck in middle with water up to it's headlights

on the holmfirth run a few weeks ago i had water a good few inch above the wheels, so much so that my passenger had a little panic as we had a little seepage through the front door seals

if were having deep water stories,on the reccy for my off road weekend this year when we first drove the water lane we pointed my pick up in the wrong bit and water was coming out the dashboard and the load bed was nearly completely submerged

I had the water over the wheel arches on one side only and was VERY lucky to get away with what I did. Had it been the other side I would have popped the engine. As it was it drowned the electrics and took quite a while to sort it all out
12" should be ok I would have thought in 'G' or 1st. At 30 MPH ???? Yeah right. Not enough power I would have thought for that speed

Yes, she did do it, we did float a little, 30 mph at start probaly 5mph at finish, she's got excellent pulling power, the only prob was no3 & 4 were soaked. Did a 10 mile run afterwards, dried out and then found a water logged farmers field, lockers work, loadsa mud, kids loved it, The only prob was I had to clean it.......

Very impressive that swimcro video...

I took my landy wading for the first time not so long back and got a bit distressed when my lunch floated past me (on the inside)! Its still soaking wet and stinks. I also had to drain the headlights afterwards (silicon to the rescue for next time). I was a bit scared when water came over the bonnet and i started floating - but it didnt float for long and it didnt get any deeper!

I imagine syncros still fill up with water (or else they will float right?) ?

Do syncros have a natural "snorkel" (ie the air comes in from the air vent at the back) or are they modded to cope ?

It may be worth mentioning that if you really can't afford to drown your vehicle or break it, the only option is to take your shoes and pants off and wade the route first to check for depth and obstructions. This was a lesson learned from Gordon Craig, in SA they are *nice* to their Syncro's...
