flikering battery light
its not cmming on fully justa faint flickering, havnt had time to lk and wnt for a few days
any suggestions of what to check first

Check the output of the alternator with a meter, should be putting out around 14V when running. Connect + probe to the big screw terminal (or where the thick wire comes from if yours has different connector) and the - probe to the alty. body. Will show you how the alty is doing.

Could be the regulator, had this problem myself.
About £12 from Gsf and easy to diagnose, remove regulator from rear of alternator which is two screws or bolts and check the length of the brushes.
Minimum 5mm or replace.
Dont forget to disconect the battery first.
Takes about two minutes .......
