Hi all, need some help, i have whitestar with a 1.9 tdi 1z lump in the back which has never let me down until yesterday. i was driving along when the throttle stopped responding when the pedal is depressed, it starts and idles perfectly but when you push the peddle fully down it revs to 2000 very slowly and that's it.
its fully electronic ecu etc.. any pointers would be very much appreciated

Re: HELP
Hi
Could be a couple of issues here and would really benefit from a error code from OBD scanner or Vagcom if you have it-does the conversion have the throttle potentiometer in the engine bay or at the accelerator pedal?
In the absence of a code I would check all wiring connections from potentiometer to Fuel pump as ECU reverts to a default setting normally around 1500rpm and no higher.
also check for any air in the diesel supply/return tubing as air ingress can cause performance/revving issues-These are (usually) caused by the Cheap Taiwan nasty thermo valve on the fuel filter being at fault or a small split in injector 'spill' tubing or possibly fuel pump main seal drawing air.
Hope this helps
