What should i do/check on my westy club joker 1.9 petrol waterboxer to ensure it has a happy winter? I plan a few trips into the scottish highland on icy days.
My dad reckons i should just pour a load of extra antifreeze into expansion tank. Can i put too muck/too strong a concentration in?
Can anyone explain the deicer function on the lpg tank for fridge/cooker - should i leave it switched on all the time or just when using gas.
Cheers Bob
winterising my westy

If you dont know when the coolant was last changed--I would suggest you drain the system & refill with 5 yr pink antifreeze & water in 50-50 concentration---use Comma or VW's own G12+ its very important in these engines that the rust inhibitor bit of the antifreeze is not ineffective due to age--you can just chuck more antifreeze in but oddly if the concentration is much over 50% it becomes less effective--
